Snoopy & Charlie Brown…

All this drawings began because I wanted to brighten up my colleague’s work area which was previously a graveyard…

I drew Snoopy because she likes Snoopy…and it is easy to draw. Plus since our work areas are connected, I have to draw something that I also like right…so NO sponge bob!

But after looking at Snoopy for a week…it appeared lonely…so I decided to draw Charlie Brown…2 is better than 1 right?

Now I’m starting to think that I should decorate my own work area too…maybe our work areas will soon be filled with the Snoopy Family…😱

Four-leaf Clover Coaster

Whenever anyone tells me he/she needs more luck, the four-leaf clover comes straight to my mind as it is one of the most common good luck symbols.

So I decided to draw some four-leaf clovers onto this plain round cork coaster. I think it would be a great gift for the next person who tells me he/she needs more good luck 😉

A Sketch of Us

This year, we will be away for Christmas so I made him an X’mas gift in advance. I am really not talented in drawing portraits and this is already my best. After completing my drawing, I bought an asymmetrical wooden photo frame and added some words in silver vinyl.

This idea was actually shared with me by S. Her drawing is definitely much better than mine. She also taught me how to achieve the correct proportions by placing my paper on top of the ipad and tracing the outline of my photo. Thanks to her advice, my drawing looks less distorted than when I first drew it.

Canvas Wedding Guest Book

I wanted a unique guest book that will not be left somewhere collecting dust but could be displayed at home instead. So I drew this…which took me zillions of years as it’s really quite boring after some time to keep drawing circles. I drew this picture on A4 and enlarged it to A3 to fit the canvas.

I tried using the mod podge photo transfer to transfer the image onto the canvas. BUT…I failed. If you look closely, there is a tear and multiple air bubbles within the picture. I tried again on a new canvas this time, making an effort to ensure that there were no air bubbles BUT I failed again. This time the image didn’t get transferred onto the canvas fully.

I GIVE UP!

Finally, I decided to simply decoupage the image onto the canvas directly and thankfully, it looks much better…though I would have preferred a more vintage look.

Lastly, I added a washi tape around the side of the canvas to complete the guest book.

I am going to provide my guests with silver and gold metallic permanent ink felt tip pens to sign on the canvas. I know that they will probably have to squeeze in their signature…but I’m so looking forward to turning the guest book into an art piece that can be hung on my wall. *fingers crossed*

Things I do when I’m Bored

I haven’t been doodling much recently as I have so many things that I need to do. Doodling is actually quite therapeutic for me as it helps to take my mind off other things and focus only on my drawing. This is very helpful for me as I have difficulty not thinking about anything (that’s why yoga etc doesn’t suit me) and easier for me to think of only 1 thing which in this case is my drawing =)
